Easel Painting Activity Granville Merrylands Clovel Childcare
As part of our early learning program, the children are encouraged to engage in easel painting which is an essential tool in muscle development and hand eye co-ordination.
There are so many benefits to working on a vertical surface. Some benefits include:
Shoulder and elbow stability, bilateral co-ordination, crossing the midline, hand eye co-ordination, spatial awareness, sensory development, core strength and posture.
The children also develop their tripod and palmer grasp by painting vertical lines, painting shapes and their names eventually. Vertical writing puts the wrist in an extended position which encourages the stabilisation for better hand writing control.
Most importantly easel painting is creative and so much fun.
