Small groups so your child gets individual attention

Clovel is a privately owned and family oriented small group of child care, early learning, preschool and OOSH services providing a “home away from home” environment where children can grow and learn through play.

It’s like leaving my kids with family. They treat them like the individuals that they are.

- Melissa Izard

Safety at the Heart of Everything We Do

At Clovel Childcare, safety is built into every part of our day. Our small, close-knit centre environment means children are always known, noticed, and supported. Every team member completes OCG and Child Safe Standards training, holds a current Working With Children Check, and undergoes thorough screening before joining our centres.

We follow safe sleep practices, run regular emergency drills and lockdowns, and keep a strong focus on active engagement and supervision, making sure children feel secure as they explore, learn, and play.

Awards & Accomplishment

Frequently Asked Questions

Clovel is a family-owned, small Western Sydney provider that offers a genuine “home away from home” environment. We keep group sizes small, so every child is known, nurtured and celebrated. Our programs are child focused, play-based and holistic, balancing academic foundations with social-emotional development.

Clovel was founded by Lyn Connolly over 45 years ago and has grown into a small group of centres across Western Sydney. Today, our long-term leadership team continues the same family values, warmth, respect and a deep commitment to children and their families.

We welcome babies, toddlers and preschoolers (generally 6 weeks to 6 years). You’ll find Clovel Centres at Greystanes, Ryde, Merrylands, Granville, Blacktown, South Penrith & Liverpool. Please use the enquiry form to connect with your nearest centre to confirm availability and organise a Centre tour.

Your child’s safety, wellbeing, and happiness are our highest priority. We want each family to feel completely confident in the protections we have in place and to know that safety at our centre is not just a policy, it is a culture we actively maintain every day.

Rigorous Staff Screening & Training:

  • All staff and visitors must hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Our educators receive ongoing training in Child Safe Standards, Mandatory Reporting, Child Protection, and Workplace Health & Safety.
  • We provide continuous professional development to ensure our team stays up to date with best-practice care and safety methods.

Smaller, Relationship-Focused Centres:

  • Our centres are intentionally smaller, allowing educators to build meaningful relationships with every child.
  • Lower ratios allow for stronger supervision, deeper engagement, and quicker response to children’s needs.
  • Clovel staff are never left alone with children, and our practice includes supernumerary educators.

Strong Supervision Practices:

  • We follow the Clovel Supervision Plans, ensuring children are always within sight, sound, and reach.
  • Educators are trained in active, engaged supervision – not just watching, but interacting, anticipating needs, and staying present.

Safe Sleep & Health Protocols:

  • Our staff always follow Safe Sleep practices, including sleep checks.
  • Environments are checked regularly for hazards, and equipment is maintained.
  • Hygiene, illness management, and infection control procedures are followed meticulously.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Children and educators practise regular emergency drills, including evacuations and lockdown procedures.
  • Our team is trained to respond calmly and effectively in a variety of emergency situations.

A Culture of Transparency & Open Communication:

  • We maintain open communication with families and encourage you to ask questions or raise concerns at any time.
  • Our leadership team is always available to discuss safety procedures, observations, and your child’s individual needs.

Safeguarding Through Engagement:

  • We believe children are safest when they feel seen, supported, and respected.
  • Our focus on connection, consistency, and positive interactions creates an environment where children feel secure and confident.

Testimonials

Very good place. Love how the educators treat my child by going over and beyond and ensuring my child develops and learns appropriately. She comes back home with a smiling face.

I have had the pleasure of sending my 2 children to this centre for 2 years now and all I can say is wow! The teachers are fantastic and welcoming everytime I drop and pick up my children, they always take the time to say good morning or see how my day was.. It feels like a second family and the kids absolutely love it there. I couldn’t imagine sending my children anywhere else.
